VOLUNTEER FOR THE 2018 STATE FAIR SHOWDOWN!

On October 20, 2018, Texas Southern University and Southern University will be battling it out at Cotton Bowl Stadium in the 2018 State Fair Showdown! Now you can be part of a new Dallas tradition! Whether you are a football fan, or like welcoming visitors to our community, there is something for everyone!

IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER DETAILS:

  1. REQUIREMENTS:  
    1. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
    2. Each volunteer must complete a waiver of liability and indemnification agreement before volunteering.
    3. Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to their assigned shift.
    4. Opportunities to volunteer will be provided on an equal opportunity basis without regard to age, sex, race, religion or disabilities. 
  2. AVAILABILITY:  
    1. Multiple dates and shifts available from October 18 and running through October 20.
    2. All volunteers will be provided with training on-site.
  3. ORIENTATION:
    1. ​Volunteer orientation Thursday, September 20th at 6pm.
    2. Free parking is available at Gate 11, Gate 5 and Gate 6.  
    3. Once you arrive, enter at the Cotton Bowl Gate K (tunnel), enter glass doors, take elevator to 3rd floor Media Center.
  4. UNIFORM:  ​
    1. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt to wear during each volunteer shift.
    2. Clean khaki / black long pants and comfortable, closed toe shoes. Sneakers/tennis shoes are recommended.
  5. PARKING: 
    1. ​Game day parking will be located in Lot 12. 
    2. Each volunteer will be provided with a parking pass or complimentary DART pass. Volunteers will have to pick up DART passes at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Medical/Market Center, 2110 Market Center Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207 Oct. 17 & 18 between the hours of 9AM - 6PM.  If they cannot ride DART, they will be provided with State Fair parking passes.
